This project was created as Samantha’s BFA Thesis Project. Inspired by her interest in visual storytelling, she chose to document the daily life of a young single mother and her two children. The project explored cultural stereotypes surrounding poverty, aiming to challenge preconceived ideas of poverty by presenting the family with both compassion and honesty. Through her images, Samantha wanted to convey the complexity of living and persevering under economic hardship while maintaining dignity and humanity.
